My first camera was a Halina 110, a birthday present when I was 7. This camera sparked my first foray in the medium, however my interest soon waned when I discovered my parents were unwilling to foot the bill for unlimited film and processing.
So like many cameras it was consigned to the cupboard, only to see the light of day for holidays, birthdays and so on.

In my early twenties I purchased a 35mm SLR camera prior to a short break in New York. Whilst there I discovered the work of Horst Hamann and was captivated by his New York Vertical images. My passion for the panoramic format had begun.

I am self taught, and spend a great deal of time planning, studying and pre-visualising, though some images are purely serendipitous.

I place a great deal of emphasis on recording 'truth', my aim, particularly with colour images is to create in camera. This often means returning to a location numerous times, but the end result is always worth the effort.

I currently work in the panoramic and square format. The 3:1 aspect ratio provided by a medium format panoramic camera allows me to visually explore the world with a wider eye and produce photographs with breathtaking detail and tonality.
